Auxiliary Gearbox Installation
An extra gearbox fitted behind the main transmission for more pulling power at low speed, for towing, sand and mountain roads.
An auxiliary gearbox (also called an extra or helper gear) is fitted between the main gearbox and the drive shaft. It adds extra gear ratios, giving the vehicle more pulling power at low speed.
It is popular for pickups and 4x4s that tow heavy trailers, carry loads, or drive in sand and on steep mountain roads.
Before fitting, we check that your vehicle is suitable. We then install the gearbox, adjust or modify the drive shaft, fit the shift control and road-test the vehicle.

Ask on WhatsAppWhich vehicles is an auxiliary gearbox suitable for?
Mostly pickups and 4x4s used for towing, loads, sand and mountain roads. Send us your vehicle details and we will tell you if it is suitable.
Is an auxiliary gearbox the same as a gear cooler?
No. A gear cooler keeps the transmission oil cool; an auxiliary gearbox adds extra gear ratios for more pulling power. We offer both.
